Butler Township is moving ahead with plans for several storm water and road resurfacing projects to take place this summer.
During their Monday night meeting, the Butler Township Commissioners approved the drafting of specifications and advertising of bids for the Schaffner Road Storm Water Project. Similar motions were approved for the Ski Slope Storm Water Project as well as the Litman Road / Braethorn Drive Storm Water Pipe Replacement Project.
The Township has been working on all of these projects in various ways over the past several years including ordering 36 inch pipe for Schaffner Road and replacing some culverts along Litman Road. The Township plans to use what is anticipated to be over $1.5 million in American Recovery Act funding to finally finish the work.
Township Commissioners also approved the drafting of specifications and advertising for bids for this summer’s road resurfacing project. The tentative list of roads that could receive attention this year include Township Line Road, Blair Drive, Judson Avenue, Victor Road, Beverly Road, Germaine Road, Bellefield Drive, Barracks Road, Williams Road, and part of Fairground Hill Road. This list is subject to change.
