A nice crowd was on hand yesterday at the American Legion Post 778 to honor local veterans of the Vietnam War.
Local veterans who served in Vietnam were presented with a 50th anniversary commemorative pin to thank them for their service.
The ceremony was held in conjunction with Senator Pat Toomey’s office and State Representative Marci Mustello—who thanked veterans for their service.
“Think about it. An entire nation of men, women, and children are free because of your sacrifices. You stood up when our country needed to take a stand,” Mustello said. “You traveled away from home to fight for the ideas of freedom and liberty and democracy.”
Dozens of veterans were at the event and received an official pin that was recently approved by Congress.
