Butler Township is taking the next step forward with several storm water projects planned for this summer.
During their Monday night meeting, the Butler Township Commissioners awarded the Schaffner Road, Litman Road / Braethorn Drive Storm Water Pipe Replacement Projects to Holbein Incorporated.
The Sarver-based company submitted the lowest of four bids received last week at just over $218,000. This work is expected to begin sometime next month and be completed before school begins this fall. Some road closures are likely to be needed to accomplish the work.
The Township has been working on these projects in various ways over the past several years including ordering 36 inch pipe for Schaffner Road and replacing some culverts along Litman Road. The Township plans to use American Recovery Act funding to finally finish the work.
