A local municipality is recognizing a group of volunteers for their efforts to improve public recreation in the region.
The Zelienople Borough Council recently issued a statement thanking the members of the Zelienople Community Park Board for their hard work with the park as well as helping to transfer the park to borough management.
The result of a Parks and Recreation Management study last year was a recommendation to transition the park to be fully operated through the Borough’s Park and Recreation system. This transfer began earlier this year with the creation of a new Zelienople Parks Department.
While current park board members shared their knowledge and experience with the operations of the park and pool, the Zelienople Council would also like to thank all past board members and volunteers for countless hours of effort to maintain the park for 80 years.
