High School Sports:
–The Butler boys Track & Field team won their second consecutive WPIAL Championship Wednesday at West Mifflin high school. The Golden Tornado won 10 of 11 track events. Guinness Brown won the 100 and 200-meter run events. CJ Singleton won the 800 and 1,600-meter runs. Presley Ornelas took the 110 and 300-meter hurdles. Sage Vavro won the 3,200-meter run. The Butler won the 4×100, 400 and 800-meter relays. In the field: Tristan McGarrah won the Pole Vault, Jake Pomykata won the discus.
Butler outpointed North Allegheny 97-53, Norwin 115-35 and Mt. Lebanon 117-33.
The North Allegheny girls defeated Butler, Norwin and South Fayette to win their first WPIAL title in 18 years. The Tigers win snapped Butler’s four-year title reign.
Butler’s Megan Baggetta won the Triple Jump with a new school record leap of 39’-3/4”. She breaks her own mark of 38’-5 ½” that she set in April of this season. It was the second-longest jump in Pennsylvania this season. Ali Morrow won the Long Jump with a jump of 18’-1/2” and also was runner-up in the 100 meter dash. Abby Kitchen won the shot put and Megan Penrod was second in the Javelin.
The WPIAL Individual Track and Field Championships will be held at Slippery Rock University next Wednesday.
–The Quaker Valley boys Tennis team defeated North Catholic 3-2 to win the WPIAL Class 2A Team championship for the second straight season.
–Central Valley defeated Mars 3-2 in the 2A Consolation match.
Baseball:

Softball:
