The Butler Area Public Library is hosting their annual summer reading challenge this week with fun events for the family.
Although the challenge officially begins tomorrow (Monday) pre-registration is open now through the library’s beanstack website.
A young adult Kickoff Luau is planned for teens and tweens on Tuesday at 1 p.m. including the opening of the summer Young Adult Café, the Wave. Other activities include hula dance lessons and limbo competitions as well as making flower leis or tiki necklaces.
A kids Kickoff Luau will then take place on Wednesday at noon with fun, games, music, activities, prizes, and refreshing treats from the Kona Ice Truck from noon to 1 p.m.
The kid and young adult challenges run through August 12th while the adult challenge continues through the end of August.
