Gordon Lee Oesterling, age 58, of Prospect, passed away with his family by his side on Sunday evening, June 12, 2022 in the UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born July 21, 1963 in Butler; he was the son of the late Richard Ford and Norma Jean Dietz Oesterling. He graduated Slippery High School in 1982.
Gordon will be remembered as a hard worker who was employed in sales and then as a diesel mechanic. He had a big personality that lit up a room. He loved telling stories and making people laugh. He found pleasure in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and his Daily Bread Devotions.
He is survived by his children Benjamin (Kelly) Oesterling of Portersville, Erica (Eric) Foust of Slippery Rock, and Katelyn Oesterling of Butler; his eight grandchildren Jocelyn, Olivia, Emily, Abigail, Joshua, Aliyah, Asher, and Aubrielle; his siblings Edward Oesterling of Butler and Cris (Wally) Kendle of Prospect; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard “Rick” Oesterling.
Family and friends will be received from 10-11am with a Memorial service following at 11am on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 900 Mt Zion Church Road, Prospect; with his son in law Pastor Eric Foust of Slippery Rock Baptist Church officiating.
