Motorists should be aware of an upcoming local traffic alert planned by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
According to PennDOT, crews will be working on a portion of Route 8 South in Middlesex Township Thursday night.
A contractor plans to have workers remove temporary barriers between the Allegheny County line and Route 228. They will also paint temporary lines to allow for unrestricted traffic Friday morning.
Milling and paving will take place at a time yet to be determined. This is part of a nearly $4 million project anticipated to be completed by the end of September.
