The Butler County Courthouse tower clock will be receiving some updates soon.
County commissioners approved a project that will install a new gear drive on the inside of the tower. Officials say there are not that many four-faced clocks still in operation, so they are contracting with a group that specializes in these repairs.
The last time the gear drive was replaced was 1995. County officials hope that this next install will also last close to 30 years.
It’s expected to cost around $22,000.
