Robert L. “Bob” Wolford, 65, of Sarver, formerly of Karns City, passed away early Sunday morning, August 28, 2022 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born in Butler on February 26, 1957. He was the son of the late Leroy S. and Connie L. Claypoole Wolford.
He was a 1975 graduate of Karns City Area High School. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran and had served in South Korea with the Army Corp of Engineers. He enjoyed hunting and NASCAR, was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and always enjoyed a “cold beer or two”.
In his earlier years he had been employed at the Glass Plant in Parker and later at Superior Absorbents in Emlenton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan L. Stockard Wolford, whom he married on May 12, 1989. Mrs. Wolford passed away on October 2, 2017.
Bob is survived by two daughters, Adrienne Harr and her husband, Brian, of Royersford and Glorianna Berry and her husband, Jason, of Birdsboro; two sons, Jason Curtis Lampus (Melissa) of Parker and Jared Lampus and his wife, Emily, of Sarver; eleven grandchildren, Rachel, Luke, Alexis, Kristina, Hannah, Mariah, David, Jack, Lauren, Erica, and Lane; a brother, Larry S. Wolford of Karns City; two sisters, Marjorie L. Pennington and her husband, Larry, of Bruin and Lee A. Weiland (Brian) of Chicora, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul Weiland.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 11 a.m – 1 p.m. Friday. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Brenda Reitler, pastor of the Zion Assembly Church of God, officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Chicora and Brady’s Bend American Legion Posts.
