An annual event at a local school district will again raise funds for breast cancer research.
Students at the Mars Area School District will participate in the ‘Hats For Heroes’ fundraiser on Friday. Friday has also been designated as a district-wide “Pink Out” to raise awareness by wearing pink clothes.
Students in all grades will have the chance to make a donation in exchange for the opportunity to wear a hat in school. Last year, the schools raised a combined total of nearly $10,000.
Anyone interested in making a donation can do so by check at the schools’ main offices or online. Proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
