A new statewide website allows residents to search for Pennsylvania products and connect with Pennsylvania farmers.
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture recently launched a website for the PA Preferred brand to support increased demand for direct connection between farmers and consumers.
“When we purchase PA Preferred, we’re acknowledging something. We’re acknowledging that we’re making a connection between what’s produced here and the people who live here,” Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding explained. “We’re connecting the landscapes, the food products, the ag industry with our own personal quality of life and nutrition.”
“That’s all embedded inside the PA Preferred as well.”
More than 820 members in 65 counties can be searched including veteran farmers in the Homegrown by Heroes program and educational opportunities in the Farm to School program.
Soon residents will also be able to view a searchable events calendar through papreferred.com.
