A hazmat team was called in response to a fire at a business in the Jackson Township area Sunday afternoon.
The initial call came in around 3:45 p.m. for a fire at a business in the 100 block of Conica Lane.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from exhaust vents. Firefighters were able to knock down the flames by 4:15 p.m., but were concerned that one of the containers may have had hydrogen cyanide.
Hazmat teams requested that everyone evacuate the scene. It’s not clear whether or not it was hydrogen cyanide.
A portion of the Conica Lane was reduced to one lane of traffic until crews could clear the scene.
