A Pennsylvania Congressman is taking over as chair for the House Agriculture Committee.
Republican Glenn “GT” Thompson of the 15th Congressional District, which includes neighboring Armstrong and Clarion Counties, was elected to the leadership position last week.
Thompson is the first Pennsylvanian to hold the chair position since 1855.
He says the role will be important as a new farm bill is on the table in 2023.
