After a two year hiatus, many will gather in Parker kick off the New Year in chilly fashion.
The Parker Polar Plunge returns on New Year’s Day. The annual event invites a large crowd to take the dive into the Allegheny River at the Parker City Boat Launch.
Hundreds have gathered for the event in the past and organizers are hoping for a large crowd once again.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the plunge happening at 2 p.m. It’s $10 to register, which gets you a t-shirt while supplies last. There will also be a 50/50, basket raffle, and vendors with proceeds benefitting local charities.
