Gas prices have remained stable locally but inched up across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, stayed even over the past week at $3.74 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole increased by three cents during that same time to reach $3.74. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $3.62, while the most expensive is $3.80 in Mercer.
The average national gas price jumped by six cents over the past week to reach $3.28 which is still three cents less per gallon than a month ago and two cents lower than one year ago.
A lower demand for gas was mostly canceled out by an increase in the cost of oil as a result of global economic concerns like COVID in China.
