With the New Year well underway, Vitalant is asking people to make about donating blood one of their resolutions.
Officials say that although most of the U.S. population is eligible to donate, only about three percent currently do so.
Blood levels are typically low this time of year, but Vitalant says numbers are down more than usual.
In addition to donating blood, Vitalant also advocates for groups to host blood drives throughout the year.
