Governor Josh Shapiro vowed to be a leader for all people as he took the oath of office yesterday.
The Democrat Shapiro was sworn-in as the 48th governor of Pennsylvania Tuesday afternoon.
“To those who didn’t cast a vote for me, I heard you too. And I will do my best everyday to be a governor for all of Pennsylvanians,” Shapiro said.
Shapiro also touted his cabinet selections, which he believes is a representation of the Commonwealth.
“I set out to build a cabinet and senior staff that looks like Pennsylvania and reflects the people and the communities that I just took an oath of office to serve and protect,” Shapiro said.
Republican leaders said they were encouraged by Shapiro’s bipartisan talk and are hopeful he follows through with those promises.
