Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Sidney Thornton died Wednesday.
Thornton played his entire six-season NFL career with the Steelers (1977-1982). He rushed for 1,512 yards and 18 touchdowns in 74 games.
He added 515 yards through the air on 46 receptions and six scores. Thornton was drafted out of Northwestern State and was a member of the Steelers’ Super Bowl championship teams in 1978 and 1979.
