Catherine Theresa Green, 86 passed away on Feb. 18 2023 at her home in Herman, PA.
She was born February 17, 1937 in Butler, PA and was the daughter of Phillip (Fred) and Mary Marx.
Catherine was a member of Saint Frances of Assisi Parish (formally St. Mary’s) for the past 64 years. She was also a long time member of the Christian mothers.
She worked at Magnetics, St. Fidelis Development office and was a homemaker for her husband Gerard (Crock) Green and their seven Children.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, upholstery work and canning fruits and vegetables. She was an exceptional baker being known as the” raspberry lady” making an average of 108 pies every year for the Church’s fish fry. She was a very devoted Catholic with a great sense of humor and knew how to turn a pun!
Catherine is survived by her brother Arthur.
Son John and wife Lynn, granddaughters Kelli and Catherine and her husband Timothy Stone.
Daughter June and husband Rick Helch, granddaughter Melissa and grandson Eric Lewetag, stepdaughter Jennifer Moody-Helch and husband Shaun, stepsons Richard II Helch and wife Charichele and Daniel Helch and wife Elysha , grandchildren Dylan, Callie, Giavanna and Adlynn.
Daughter Judy and husband Mark Atkinson, grandson Christopher and wife Sis Hill, great grandsons Landon, Cody and Mason. Grandson Joey.
Daughter Shirley and Robert, granddaughter Jamie and Chris De Falco. Granddaughter Katie and husband Brandon Lias, great granddaughter Emma Mae, and grandson Jonathon and wife Emily, great granddaughter, Norah and great grandson, Davis. Granddaughter Elizabeth.
Daughter Lorie and husband Larry Wizorek, granddaughters Nicole, Stephanie, Melanie and husband Greg Cummings and great grandson Joseph and granddaughter Julie.
Son Gerard Green and granddaughter Caite and great grandson Noah.
Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Catherine is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Mary Marx. Sisters Ethel, Petty, Mary, Jeannie, Ruth, Irene, and brother Fred. Her husband Gerard Green, and daughter Dianne. Great grandsons Stephen Green and Leo Cummings.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 11:00 am, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. The Rev. Ward Stakem to officiate. Interment to be in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
