Several local schools will be receiving funding from the PA Department of Education to help improve food service equipment.
Butler Area School District has been awarded nearly $21,000 through this year’s Food Service Equipment Grant Program. Both Broad Street Elementary and McQuistion Elementary Schools will be receiving identical electric convection ovens.
This program has also designated nearly $12,000 for Freeport Area School District for a heater at South Buffalo Elementary School and a mixer at the Senior High School as well as nearly $17,000 for Summit Academy to purchase an electric food cutter.
130 education agencies statewide have received federal funding in this most recent awarding of National School Lunch Program Grants.
