The Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Game Commission recently presented the agency’s annual report to the state legislature.
Earlier this week, Bryan Burhans spoke to the General Assembly and also delivered testimony to the House Game and Fisheries Committee.
Burhans informed lawmakers about efforts to enforce wildlife law including over 4,700 warnings and over 5,700 prosecutions in the Pennsylvania court system during the 2021-22 fiscal year. The success rate on those prosecutions was over 97%.
Burhans also detailed how the Commission is continuing to deliver on their mandate to regulate wildlife through efforts like a research project on the ruffed grouse as well as a study on eastern mallards.
