Authorities are continuing to search for a suspect believed to have been involved in a Saturday morning murder in neighboring Mercer County.
According to State Police, authorities were dispatched to Roemer Avenue in Farrell just after 4:30am on Saturday (April 1st) to investigate a disturbance.
During their investigation, police were made aware of a deceased man, later identified as 21-year-old Jayson Burns of Sharon, who had been taken to UPMC Farrell with a gunshot wound.
State Police say that they later took over the investigation and determined that Burns had been in a physical altercation with three men along Roemer Road.
During the altercation, police say that 27-year-old Darrell Harrison Jr. of Youngstown allegedly shot the victim, who was later transported to the hospital by several people at the scene. Police say that Harrison fled the scene prior to their arrival.
Officials are considering Harrison armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts are asked to call State Police in Mercer at 724-662-6162.
