A couple of local students raised a large amount of money for a worthy cause through an athletic event being held today.
Seneca Valley Advanced Leadership students organized a Big Ball Volleyball Tournament in the Senior High School gymnasium.
As part of their leadership project Mia Humphreys and Tayla Fullerton communicated with staff and peers, used problem solving skills, and organized teams to create a bracket schedule.
A total of $840 was raised from team sign-ups and will benefit the Seneca Valley Hope Squad which is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program.
