A local organization to help individuals with disabilities with job training is asking for community support during some changes.
The Growing Together Aquaponics program in Slippery Rock provides employment through sustainable farming and distribution of natural produce to surrounding communities.
The program is currently located within 1,000 square feet at North Country Brewery’s taproom and canning facility but that lease will not be renewed later this month for a sixth year.
A new location has not yet been finalized but the group needs the use of a box truck for a couple days, volunteers to help with moving, gardening supplies, and donations to help cover moving expenses.
More information can be found through the program’s website at gtaquaponics.org.
