Butler County Community College officials say a program targeted for secondary students is continuing to grow.
BC3’s “College Within the High School” offers a chance for students to earn college credits while still in high school. This past year, BC3 had 509 students enroll in the program, which was the most ever.
“It’s a phenomenal jump-start to go into your freshman year of college with this experience, with these credits in hand, with being able to lighten a credit load and to save money,” BC3 President Dr. Nick Neupauer said. “It is resonating now more than ever before.”
The college offered 21 different courses for students this past year. Officials say it’s the same syllabus and instruction materials that college students use.
High school students can start earning credits starting in their sophomore year. Anyone who wants to learn more can visit bc3.edu.
