A projected 42.3 million Americans are expected to make a trip this Memorial Day Weekend. That would be the third-busiest Memorial Day travel weekend since 2000.
An estimated 3.4 million will make their trip by plane, which is an 11 percent increase compared to last year.
In the Mid-Atlantic region, an estimated 4.5 million will be traveling by car.
