First Energy is offering advice to drivers who are involved in accidents involving utility poles.
Officials say these accidents can be dangerous because of the possibility of live wires. They’re offering a couple of tips to stay safe…
- Stay inside the vehicle unless it is smoking or on fire.
- Stop and look around to identify safety hazards, including downed lines.
- Call 9-1-1 immediately.
- If the vehicle is on fire—jump out and stay clear of the vehicle with your feet together.
