Governor Josh Shapiro is withdrawing his nominee to be the health secretary in Pennsylvania.
Shapiro recalled his nomination of Pittsburgh native Dr. Debra Bogen to lead the state’s health department.
Bogen had just appeared before the state senate earlier this week, which has the ultimate say on approving members of Shapiro’s cabinet.
The governor did not give a reason for withdrawing Bogen’s nomination.
Bogen led the Allegheny Health Department during the pandemic.
