Cheryl Lynn Allison, 75, of Butler, who had been living in Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 with her family by her side at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 3, 1948 in Butler, the special daughter of the late Wayne Allison and Dolores “Dolly” (Boggess) Allison of Butler.
Cheryl loved her Lord and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Cheryl took much pride in working for 44 years at the Sheltered Workshop (ARC). Also, she attended “Golden Opportunities” on the days she was not at the workshop. Her main interests included countless puzzles, search-a-word books, all kinds of music, shopping and watching some regular TV programs. She was so tickled when she could donate many puzzles to other children at the Glade Run Lutheran Services in Zelienople. Cheryl spent her last years at Concordia in Cabot, where she truly enjoyed the staff, who took great care of her. She had many friends there, but two were very special, Glenda and Karen. They were the sisters she never had. Cheryl participated in all activities with laughter and clapping. She also attended all the church services there with her mother who currently resides there also. If you were visiting Cheryl and it was time for Bingo, you were left in her dust. She was a frequent Bingo winner. Her family was her guardian angels who gave her a quality of life that she deserved.
Surviving are her mother; two brothers, Barry W. and his wife, Sherry of Alliance, OH and Howard J. Allison and his companion, Jackie Birckbichler of Butler; 4 nieces, Alysha (Sanjay) Mosby of Butler, Kristin (Ron) Materna, Sara (Jason) Lohmier and Apryl (Cameron) Binkley, all of Ohio and 10 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends will be received at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Dr. Butler, PA 16001 on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 2 PM until the time of service at 3 PM with her pastor Joel Benson officiating.
Private burial in Butler County Memorial Park.
