The Pittsburgh Steelers and linebacker Alex Highsmith have agreed on a new contract that will total five-years and more than $70 million. The 26-year old Highsmith was entering the final year of his rookie contract. He led the Steelers with 14.5 sacks last season, sixth-most in the NFL. Highsmith has 21-1/2 sacks in his first 38 NFL games, just four sacks less than teammate T.J. Watt in his first 38. The new contract includes a more than $27 million guaranteed.
