A local congregation is preparing to welcome the community to a special event later today.
Saint Paul’s Community Church in Chicora is holding a midsummer celebration beginning at 2 p.m.
The day will include face painting, corn hole, prizes, a dunk tank, and music from local singers and a praise band from 2 to 3:30 as well as the Pittsburgh Pirates Parrot and Pierogy from 2:30 to 3:30.
Visitors will also be able to hear a Christian comedian at 4 p.m. followed by a tureen dinner at 5:30. Donations of items such as cereal bowls and socks will be accepted for the Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center.
