One of Butler’s biggest local manufacturer’s and the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers teamed up to raise funds for children in need.
Cleveland Cliffs hosted Cavs legends Austin Carr and Campy Russell at the Butler Farm Show Tuesday to help raise funds for The Kids’ Weekend Backpack Program.
Aaron Steinheiser, general manager of Butler and Zanesville Cliffs facilities, views community fundraising events like these as a great privilege to get into the community.
“The community supports us as much as we do them. We are the last producer of electrical steel in the United States so it’s a great honor for us to return something to the public,” Steinheiser said.
The Cavaliers also donated $5,000 to the program. Farm Show visitors were able to shoot some free throws with Carr and Russell in an attempt to win Cavs memorabilia.
All proceeds from the event were to the Backpack Program.
