A deadline is approaching for veterans to take advantage of a special enrollment period for benefits under the PACT Act.
The bill expanded and extended eligibility for permanent VA health care and benefits—especially for veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who left active duty between September 1, 2001 and October 1, 2013.
Officials say in order to take full advantage of lifetime care, even if it is not needed now, veterans need to file a claim by the end of the day tomorrow (9/30).
To apply for care or benefits, veterans are asked to visit VA.gov/PACT or call 1-800-MYVA411.
