The City of Butler is purchasing a vehicle to help police improve the fleet they use to protect residents.
At their Thursday meeting, Butler City Council approved the purchase of a 2023 Ford Interceptor SUV 4-Door All Wheel Drive for nearly $38,000 from Laurel Auto Group.
This new vehicle will go into service at some point early next year after it has received the necessary modifications and replaces a 2006 Chevy vehicle currently in use.
The replacement of a 2014 police vehicle at some point in the future will allow the City to catch up with getting on a regular schedule of replacing one vehicle each year.
