Kathryn R. (Kit) Neal, 95, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born athr) Stephenson.
Kathryn was a Home Economics Teacher for various School Districts for 38 years. Her last 22 years were spent at Hampton School District. She was a member of the Literary Club in Butler, was an avid bridge player, enjoyed gardening, traveling, and reading. Kathryn was a member of the University of Women’s Association. She was also a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church.
Kit is survived by one son, Jeffrey W. Neal of Lake Worth Beach, Florida, one daughter, Kathryn (Kitty) Shields and her husband, Rustin, of Roanoke, Virginia; one grandson, Jon Ross Shields and one brother, William S. Ruffner of Greensburg, PA
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, M. Wayne Neal whom she married on February 14, 1953 and who passed away on August 8, 2000 and three sisters.
The will be no public visitation.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001 with Pastor B.T. Gilliagan of Nixon United Methodist Church.
Burial will take place at Brownsdale Cemetery.
