College Football Saturday:
–The Slippery Rock University football team came back from two deficits, including 14-0 in the first quarter to defeat Gannon 49-24 in Erie. Rock quarterback Brayden Long threw four touchdown passes, three to receiver Kyle Sheets as The Rock improved to 7-0 to start a season for the fourth time in program history. They host California this Saturday afternoon for their Homecoming game in a match-up that could determine the PSAC-West title.
–Grove City College held Allegheny to 16 net rushing yards rushing in a 31-7 victory in Meadville Saturday. The Wolverines improved to 7-0 this season.
–Pitt got back into the win column after four straight losses with a 38-21 victory over previously unbeaten Louisville at Acrisure Stadium Saturday night. The Panthers travel to Wake Forest Saturday afternoon.
–Penn State shutout Massachusetts 63-0 and improved to 6-0 this season heading into their game this weekend against #3 Ohio State. Kick-off in Columbus will be Noon.
Despite the win, the Nittany Lions fell from #6 to #7 this week in the latest Associated Press weekly top-25 poll. Washington jumped from #7 to #5 this week with their thrilling 36-33 victory over #9 Oregon.
Idle Oklahoma fell from #5 to #6. Georgia remains #1, followed by Michigan at #2. Florida State remains #4 behind Ohio State.
