Harry J. Boben, 98, of Butler passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 8, 1925 in Claytonia, PA to the late John Boben and Pauline Jerman Boben.
Harry was a member of St. Andrew Roman Church, SNPJ Lodge #776, International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local 9 Pennsylvania for 75 years. He was an Army Air Corp – World War II Veteran. Harry was a member of the VFW Post #249 and American Legion Post #778. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing and visiting casinos. Harry was an avid Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins fan. He loved being the life of the party and making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Helen DeCorte Boben, who he married 75 years ago; three children, Harry Boben of Butler, PA, Paula (Tom) Horne of Leland, NC, and Joe Boben of Butler, PA; five grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Brown, Wendy (John) Clibbens, Shelly (Matt) Johnston, Joe (Megan) Boben, and Evan (Becky) Boben; five great-grandchildren, Carter Vannoy, Haley Vannoy, Jacob Johnston, Joshua Johnston, and Clara Boben.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Ben Brown; two daughter-in-laws, Mary Lou Boben, and Anne Boben; five brothers, John, Ed, Don, Paul, and Ken.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 4 pm to 7 pm. at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from All Saints Parish St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 North Main Street Ext., Butler, PA 16001.
A Committal Service will then take place at Calvary Cemetery, 1004 North Main Street, Butler, PA 16001.
