The public is invited to hear readings from an Ohio author at Butler County Community College later this week.
The latest free event in the Northern Appalachia Reading Series is planned for Thursday at 6 p.m. the Heaton Family Learning Commons.
40-year-old Mitch James of Mentor, Ohio will read from his first novel titled “Seldom Seen: A Miner’s Tale” about regional coal mining which was published last December. Mentor says he appreciates the support he’s had for his novel.
“It gives you confidence that you are not wasting your time,” James said, “that people want to engage with your world.”
An open-mic session for BC3 students is planned before the reading followed by the opportunity for book signings and light refreshments.
