A local government official recently met with a statewide official about business and permitting.
During a conference last week, Butler Township Commissioner Dave Zarnick had a chance to speak with Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis.
Zarnick informed Davis about the concerns of the union representing employees at Cleveland Cliffs about a Department of Energy proposal for new regulations of specialty steel for transformers.
The two also spoke about delays in getting a quick response from state agencies during the permitting process which have slowed progress on several projects in the township.
Davis said that his staff would look into both issues and Zarnick extended an invitation to visit the township to get a closer look at local projects.
