Crews were on the scene of a fire last night in the Meridian area.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just before 7 p.m. for a house fire in the 4000 block of Partell Street.
When crews got on scene, they saw smoke and flames coming from the exterior of the building. It was then escalated to a two-alarm fire and additional crews were called in to help battle the blaze.
Firefighters worked their way to the upper floor of the home, believing that the fire could have started near the attic.
Crews were able to knock down the flames by 7:20 p.m.
The exact cause of the fire is not known at this point.
Police say the home was unoccupied whenever the fire broke out.
