Wednesday marks 60 years since the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Kennedy was shot and killed on a Friday afternoon in 1963 while in a presidential motorcade through Dallas, Texas.
The Butler area remembers its connection to the former President, when he stopped in downtown campaigning for the presidency in 1960.
Kennedy spoke to a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd that had gathered at the steps on the Butler County Courthouse.
The speech was also notable because it was given within earshot of the Nixon Hotel, which was located on the Diamond. Kennedy was running against Vice President Richard Nixon for the presidency in 1960.
