It was a chilly Tuesday morning as the first true cold snap of the season hit the area.
Although temperatures hovered in the lower 20s, the National Weather Service showed a wind chill of just 9 degrees in the Butler to start the day.
In addition to the cold temperatures, lake effect snow also dropped a little more than a dusting to the area. It led to some snowy roads, although there were few accidents reported during the morning commute.
The overnight Tuesday is expected to be even chillier with temperatures in the mid-teens and wind chill still a factor.
Wednesday will have slightly higher temperatures in the mid-30s before recovering into the upper 40s by the weekend.
