A local college fundraiser set a new record after raising millions of dollars for the college.
Grove City College’s annual Wolverine Challenge Fundraiser raised just under $3 million to help support scholarships, athletics, and more programs at the school. The previous record was $2 million.
The college was able to raise the funds because of the “Greek Challenge” which saw sisters of Sigma Theta Chi having 22 percent of alumna donate and the brothers of Kappa Alpha Phi raise $187,917.
The Paul G. Benedum Jr. Foundation also matched $20,000 for scholarship gifts and President Paul and Brenda McNulty matched a $10,000 for gifts to the annual fund.
