Monday Night Football:
The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-31 in overtime. Bengals kicker Evan McPherson hit a 48-yard field goal for the win with just under two minutes remaining in the extra period. Cincinnati back-up quarterback Jake Browning threw for 354 yards, throwing for a touchdown and rushing for another. Ja’Marr Chase caught 11 passes for 149 yards and a score. The Bengals improved to 6-6. The Jaguars fell to 8-4, with quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffering an ankle injury in the fourth quarter.
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that quarterback Kenny Pickett had surgery for a high ankle sprain yesterday. The procedure is hoped to speed up his return, but he will miss several games, including the game this Thursday. The Steelers host New England at Acrisure Stadium. They are six point favorites.
With Pickett out, the Steelers have signed former Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley to their practice squad.
