Two Hall of Fame classes have been announced today.
The 2024 Butler County Sports Hall Of Fame will honor eight athletes and coaches. They include:
–Joshua Barthlow, who was an exceptional swimmer at Butler High School class of 2004 and the University of East Carolina.
–Kevin Doyle, Knoch High School class of 1998 and St. Francis University who was elite in Cross Country, Track and Professional Road Racing.
–John Enrietto, long-time Sports Editor for the Butler Eagle over the past 27 years. He will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
–Brandon Fusco, Seneca Valley High School class of 2006 and graduate of Slippery Rock University. Brandon was a nationally decorated athlete during his time at The Rock and was drafted into to the NFL by the Minnesota Vikings.
–Lily Grenci who was a standout basketball player from the Mars High School class of 2009 and went on to continue her basketball career at Siena University.
–Tammi Kelley, Knoch High School class of 1983 and Slippery Rock University graduate who starred in track and field.
–John Papa who graduated Gateway High School in 1975 and Slippery Rock University. He was a stand-out Track & Field athlete at The Rock and went on to a more than three-decade coaching career at SRU.
–Dana Petruska, Deer Lakes High School class of 1975 and the University of Pittsburgh who was a standout basketball player and went on to a lengthy career as a basketball coach.
The induction ceremony will be held at Butler County Community College on April 27th. Ticket information will be announced soon.
