Ethel Jean Deal, 76, of Fairview, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, January 21, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Ethel Jean was born in Chicora on May 27, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Geraldine Lineman Mourer.
She was a graduate of Fairview Twp. Karns City High School and had been a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church. Ethel Jean enjoyed shopping, most especially QVC, watching game shows, and spending time on her computer.
In her earlier years, she had been employed as a secretary at INDSPEC in Petrolia and Dick McCall Inc.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis L. “Shorty” Deal, who died on July 7, 2002.
Surviving is a daughter, Tammey D. Freiters and her husband, Arnold, of Karns City; her grandchildren, Emily Freiters, Dylan Freiters and his wife, Hannah, Lacey Freiters, and Hanna Freiters; three great grandchildren, Wade Freiters and twins, Rowan and Rhett Freiters; two sisters, Carol Ann Hollabaugh and her husband, James, of Saxonburg and Mary Lou Cypher and her husband, Neal, of Butler, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donny Deal, who died in 1987, and a brother, Donald “Donny” Mourer.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from Noon -1 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
