Marlene R. Nagle, age 91, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 17, 1932 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late William P. Welter, Sr. and Margaret Fink Welter.
She was a graduate of Pittsburgh Beauty Academy.
Marlene was formerly employed as a hairdresser at Christy Beauty Salon and Walmart. She retired from Moonlight Mushrooms, where she worked as a picker.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church.
Marlene belonged to the Tanglewood Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, dancing, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by four sons, Bernard Nagle and his wife, Cathy, of Donna, Texas, Wayne Nagle and his wife, Raylene, of Butler, Kenneth Nagle and his wife, Charlene, of Zelienople, and Keith Nagle and his wife, Susan, of Butler; one daughter-in-law, Sherry Nagle, of Arizona; two sisters, Lois Zellefro and her husband, Clem, of Florida, and Carol Ann Shay-Boarts and her husband, Gary, of Fenelton; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Nagle, of Sarver, and Carol Welter of Butler; 18 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. “Slim” Nagle, Sr., who passed away Sept. 7, 2010; one son, Dale Nagle; one grandson, Jason Nagle; four brothers, William, Norman, Ron, and Rich Welter; and one sister, Alice Dobbs.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Monday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from All Saints Parish, Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
