Cranberry Township will consider the replacement of a couple old vehicles at an upcoming meeting.
Township supervisors recently discussed replacing a truck from 1985 through the purchase of a 2025 Peterbilt 10-ton truck with a dump body. The new truck would be added to Cranberry’s winter fleet with the oldest current truck becoming an emergency backup which is the spot currently occupied by the Mack Dump Truck used for maintenance and water line repairs.
Township officials are also considering the purchase of a 2023 Dodge Charger for use by the Cranberry Police Department. It would replace what is now the oldest vehicle in the police fleet which would then transition to use by school resource officers for transportation and improved visibility at school facilities.
Action is expected to be taken on both proposals at the next Cranberry Township meeting on Thursday.
