Harry Hinderliter, 82, of Butler passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024. He was born in Grange, PA on September 20, 1941 to the late Ervin and Dorothy (Nulph) Hinderliter. Harry graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1959 and joined the U.S. Army, honorably serving from 1959 to 1962. Harry started his career at Automatic Electric then worked at Consolidated Communications (formerly North Pittsburgh Telephone Company) until his retirement in 2002. He was best known for his love of gardening, home projects, antiquing, watching war and western movies, reading mystery novels, and repurposing old steamer trunks. For the last 16 years he helped his wife with her cookie business.
Harry was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Ochs) Hinderliter since their marriage in 2000; father of Kim Hinderliter, Kevin (Tina Williams) Hinderliter, and Kelly (Brian Le Suer) Stephens; step father of Dale (Christy) Zacherl Jr, Christopher (Iolanda) Zacherl, Marjorie (Doug) Bowser, and Anna (Don) Zacherl – Cornman; brother of Ruby Hinderliter and Ginger Dove; grandfather of Allen (Sierra) Watterson, Makayla (Jeremy) Randall, Matthew Stephens, Tyler Hinderliter, Adam, Dustin, Sophia, Isaac, Cameron, Samuele, Autumn, Brielle, Millie, Penny, Sara (Regis), and Miriam (Alex); great-grandfather of Waylon, Freya, Aiden, Dante, and Lucas; uncle to one niece and five nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Charles and Terry, and sisters Elsie and Betty. Arrangements will be held privately through the SPENCER D.
